Our Impact

Donations to the Campbell Police Foundation play a crucial role in funding resources that enhance law enforcement, crime prevention, emergency response, and community outreach efforts in the City of Campbell. Since 2012, generous contributions have enabled the Campbell Police Department (CPD) to implement vital programs, acquire advanced equipment, and strengthen relationships within the community. As a leader in police technology and innovative emergency response, CPD also shares its expertise with other cities across the nation, helping replicate successful programs.

K9 Program

In 2019, the Foundation launched the K9 Officer program with the purchase of Lucas, a Belgian Malinois. The program enhances public and officer safety by reducing the need for force. K9s assist with searches (people, weapons, explosives) and securing large events. With over 7,000 calls annually, K9s are involved in fewer than 0.01% of apprehensions, as their presence often leads to surrender without force.

Drones

Drones have revolutionized CPD’s ability to respond to emergency situations, aiding in locating missing persons, apprehending suspects, and clearing residences before deploying officers or K9s. Using drones as first responders enhances safety and helps de-escalate potential violence. CPD recently became the first department in the U.S. to secure an FAA live observer waiver for our Drone as First Responder Program.

Community Engagement

The Foundation enhances CPD's connection with Campbell through activities like K9 demonstrations at schools, collectible Cop Cards, and the annual Foundation Breakfast. The Dunk-A-Cop tank at Boogie on the Avenue and Oktoberfest also engages the community in fun, interactive ways.

Officer Wellness

The Foundation has long supported CPD families to strengthen camaraderie. In 2022, we expanded this focus by purchasing Morgan, a therapy dog, to support the mental and physical well-being of officers and dispatchers. We are also in the middle of a multi-year campaign to raise $10,000 for a wellness center with gym equipment in the new police building.
